Where did MAY go?!

Wow this month just flew, actually make that April & May just vanished!!! We have been so busy, but that always seems to happen with softball and end of school stuff!!

Let's see we ended April with Briley in the hospital, fun times!! Poor guy! Apparently what I have thought was impetigo was really fever blisters all over his hands, never on his lip or in his mouth, so it never even occurred to me that it could be that, even though we only got it when he ran fever?!  Every time he got this I would pop the blisters (ouch!) and wash it with anti-bacterial soap & bandage it up (that's how you treat impetigo), but this time it only got worse to the point that his little hand swelled and looked like it was eating his flesh.  I got scared!! Took him to Dr. Brodbeck, he didn't know what it was either, but put him on heavy antibiotics and sent us home.  The next day it wasn't any better so he had us go to the hospital. He had an infectious disease Dr. (nice title right?) diagnose it.  So, after 3 days in the hospital we finally have a cure for it and hopefully meds that will prevent it from getting that bad again. Briley loved ordering chicken strips & gravy for every meal and eating all the green popsicles his little heart desired, but hated having the IV & he missed his "friend" Avery! He would ask wheres my friend Avery...broke my heart, they have never spent a night apart!!!
Pretty nasty looking huh?

Chloe's first year of junior high just woooshed by! She has had so much fun at Hutch and made all A's except for one little 89! She also did amazing on her stupid TAKS tests..she made a 100 on the Math and she was disappointed that she didn't get a 100 on the Reading for the 1st time, I said "What?! You did great!!   I have to remind myself not to put to much pressure on her, she obviously puts a lot on herself!  She's a great girl, couldn't have asked for better!

Softball has pretty much ruled our schedule lately, but it's so much fun!  She likes playing center field & has been catching those pop flies in the outfield & hit a home run! Very proud of how much she has improved! We still have softball games through the middle of June and Coronado softball camp this week, so we'll be living & breathing it a little longer!
Camden came to one of the games with Bubs & JoJo and the three cousins had fun eating pickle pops (frozen pickle juice)...Avery loved them the most!!

Chloe's choir  won best in show for a non-varsity choir at a regional competition! The trophy was huge!!! When I went to the end of school concert I was definitely wowed!! Felt more like a Broadway/Rock concert than a junior high choir performance, so glad Chloe is apart of such an awesome program. After the choir competition they went to Joyland for the day, fun times!  I couldn't make it to that, Chloe was so upset, NOT! (BTW I'm totally uncool when I say Not!)  The new words are "that's Epic", "I know right" (ikr), and "fail"....just in case you want to speak teenager! It's so funny to me how lingo changes!

They had an end of year Choir lock-in that I helped with, even though Chloe probably would have preferred I missed out on that too...! I was in the karaoke room and she avoided it most the night..lol! I still got a few cute pics of her doing a line-dance they've learned, she was really good & knew all the moves!

On the last full day of school all of Choir had a Jello war after school (how fun is that?)!!  Chloe & Taylor made a bunch of red red jello and had a blast with it, Chloe is covered from head to toe in it!!  Here she is with Taylor, Addison & Mrs. Witt!
Chloe with me after her choir concert! The sopranos had to wear something pink, hence the pink flower in her hair.

Camden came over to play, the boys loved getting to show her all their toys!!She had fun & didn't want to leave.
The boys had there first school program at Sugar n Spice. They both did so good & didn't have any stage fright issues, we were super proud! Avery bounced the entire time with a serious expression & did the occasional waving of his flag. Briley was actually next to his buddy Ryder, but once on the risers he pushed his way over by Roxie! So funny! He loves her!

I took the boys to Walter's World of Pets, about as close to a zoo as we have here in the LBK, but it's no where close to a zoo!!. The boys loved it...me not so much! When we first entered the dark box that smelled like pee, I was busy looking at my eye level, when I hear a loudbang...a freaking cobra tried to attack Avery (through class of course, but still!!!), they were face to face!!! I screamed, Avery screamed, but unlike me he thought it was pretty funny!! Then across from the cobra was this creepy Boa constrictor that would follow the boys as they walked by....bad pic of Avery but you can see the creepster following him, eyeing him like he's lunch!
The monkeys were funny, but they kept jumping at the window  trying to bust out, which would make me scream because I was so freaked out thinking about the snakes escaping! Sorry boys, but I'm afraid that may have been your first & last visit to Walter's World of Creepies, ugh!
Chloe with our Memorial Day cake....we had trouble icing the sides, but oh well you can see our patriotism better this way! We ate it with blueberries & strawberries and it was really yummy!!
